Business Growth Services is a firm of Chartered Accountants and Multi – Disciplinary Business Growth Specialists set up to help frustrated business owners get what they want. We help owners turnaround, grow, build and extract value and with high-value exit when that fits.

The organising principle of how we work with clients in the first 12 months is to help them build a Profit Machine© to “Double Their Profits In 12 Months…Or Less”©. We do not do this in a haphazard manner. We have synthesised many years’ experience of multiple professionals into a proven 5 step C-GEAR© process as follows:

Typically our initial work is led by experienced Finance Director professionals from corporate and large consulting firm backgrounds who act as a CFO (Chief Financial Officer) and Strategy adviser to the business. Once we have developed Firm Financial Foundations and a Crystal Clear Strategic Growth Plan we then introduce proven partners to work on the specific needs of a particular business.

Step 1 starts with C-Control. Many SME’s do not have the full clarity, understanding or control of their financial situation to provide a firm foundation for the growth of their business. Businesses that grow and grow safely, rely on timely, accurate and insightful data to drive their business decisions.

The first thing we do is analyse your financial situation and give you crystal clear clarity and insight as to what the numbers mean.

There are actually 7 key drivers of Profit and Cashflow in any business. What changes would be needed in each of these to “Double Your Profit In 12 Months…..Or Less”©? Once we have agreed with you what’s feasible, we’ll then flesh this out into a monthly forecast for the next 12 months to achieve that profit growth.

We don’t just leave it there. We have monthly Finance & Strategy meetings, similar to a Non-Executive Director type role, to:

• Review your results against the plan
• Train you in how to understand what your financial statements really mean
• Coach you in the adjustments needed to improve performance and hit or exceed your goals

We’re set up quite differently to a traditional firm of Chartered Accountants. Traditional firms focus on year-end accounts and tax returns, reporting to Companies House and HMRC  on what has happened in the business in the last financial year. The information they report on often happened over 12-18 months ago!

Whilst we do this compliance work as well we know that is far too long to wait for professional finance and strategy advice! We want to develop rock solid financial analysis of what happened in the business in the last 30 days. We want to meet with you every 30 days to see the latest results and advise what changes are needed in the next 30 days.

People ask us “Is it really feasible to double your profits in 12 months?”. The honest answer is that we don’t know until we have had a look at a business. What we can say is that we have a proven 5 step process to do this and can talk you through how that has worked with specific businesses. This has recently included improvements in profit of over £1m in 2 medium sized businesses (with similar proportionate results in much smaller businesses).
